i almost forgot to wish all of my dear family and friends who are mothers "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY". i hope you all had great day. if you could endulge me, let me tell you a few things about motherhood:
i never knew how hard being a mom would be. if i had known, i might have been scared and never had kids. it's a good thing that when you are young and start having kids, it is sometimes years before you realize what an emotional journey being a mom is. all that said, i can tell you that i am very blessed to have been given the opportunity to have children, and would not trade it for anything. has it been hard? yes! but i have also had much joy and happiness, and the rewards have outweighed the hardships. i am greatful for my children who have made my life full. i cannot imagine a day without them. i love you jared, joshua, and elissa. thank you for choosing me to be your mother and giving me the honor.
i heard it said that grandchildren are the reward for having had children. that is so true! i love my little grandaughters and feel so blessed to have them in my life. i was thinking about my friend sid who died and never got to know his three grandsons. i cannot imagine never holding my 2 little angels.
now a thought on marriage since this month will be our 3o year anniversary.
john and i fell inlove very young. we did not know how difficult marriage would be and how much work it was going to take to get to were we are right now. we just thought that our love would be enough and that it would carry us through anything and everything. oh! too be young and in love. in the end, it has been that love that has carried us through, along with much prayers, patience, sacrifice and perseverence. has it been worth it? yes! would i do it again? yes! because the rewards have again outweighed the hardships we have been through. life is not a fairy tale with all happy endings, but there are alot of great stories with lots of lessons learned and wisdom being found. there are no perfect marriages because there are no perfect people. there are however, many good, lasting marriages that have stood the test of time. nothing good in life comes without sacrifice and tears, but it is all those tears that make it all that much sweeter in the end. i made a vow to never give up, not on me, not on my husband, and never on my children. i know that they too will face many hardships, but i hope that they have learned that everything good in their life is worth fighting for, and that they too will vow to never give up. may we all find the strength to hang in there. much love to all of you, especially my loving husband and children.
